Humid subtropical. That's the kind of climate our lovely state is described as having. Well, we like the word "subtropical". "Humid"? Not so much. We don't get the dry heat of California or the persistent cold of Maine; instead we have moisture. Especially in Summer, we see moisture getting trapped behind paint all the time. It's the sort that causes bubbling and peeling, the invasion that tears the beauty from your home. The already-saturated air stalls the paint-drying process, and UV rays lead to fading and chalking. Combined with frequent rains, it would seem we've got ourselves a recipe for disaster.

Fortunately for us, it's not so terrible if you come prepared! You don't have to paint yourself into a corner, just be knowledgable about the climate! You'll need paint with high-quality moisture resistance, the kind that's also fade-resilient. With that in hand, you'll have a job that'll both looks and remains good.
